@ArmyGirl Never did the combat thing. When I was in medic training they came down looking for volunteers to Pharmacy school. Someone had screwed up in typical fashion and sent them 3 instead of 30. I volunteered. Volunteering worked well for me despite all the warnings. We were 2 weeks short of graduation at that time. 2 week later I went down and looked. The orders said "Oakland Army Depot en route". I asked a sergeant. Viet Nam.
I did see plenty who had gone. Not pretty. My hat is off to you.
