I wrote this blog very much from the perspective of the individual academic right but many universities are also considering Mastodon and I'm sure they would find it useful as well.

@TheStrugglingScientists Thanks. These are important points to consider. Perhaps another angle that you might include would be the options available for a university, department or scholarly community to set up their own instance of Mastodon?
