This is kind of a mind blow, for me at least. Intuitively you would assume that portion of the universe you could theoretically affect would get bigger over time as technology improves.

However, actually it gets *smaller* over time, as that portion of the universe you could reach by travelling at the speed of light shrinks as the remaining time to the end of the universe shrinks

(Obviously some practical issues with actually doing that. Implementation details, that's all.)
