@WilliamRamsey My understanding is that 24v would be more standard and has some advantages over 12v https://www.waveformlighting.com/home-residential/advantages-of-a-24v-led-system-vs-12v
@syntagmatic @mark_ungrin The cheapest individual assemblies I could think to make were sacks and columns secured with elastic (headbands) and suspended from string w/ MERV-13 media (supplied by Jim Rosenthal).
@syntagmatic it's practical in that it's arguably cheaper to cut a rectangle from a factory roll and glue seams than create a cardboard framed pleated filter. For a single 140mm fan , I think you can achieve an adequate surface area for pressure drop. The material holds its shape fairly well, and suspension can allow for either flow direction setup.
@syntagmatic @mark_ungrin Imagine disturbing filtration across space by lengthening such available connections (considering voltage drop, raceway reqs). Splitter cables (whips) of greater length/guage can be crafted in bulk.
@WilliamRamsey Oh that's interesting-- in the first image is that pushing into the filter bag?
That makes me wonder about flexible filter arrangements that "breathe" (expand when pressurized) and naturally deflate if the fans slow down. Can't imagine it's more practical than densely pleated panels, but it could have a cool kinetic sculpture effect
