Hearing #gratitude from students is 💯. I subbed portfolios for exams this semester and I’m never giving an exam again.
I’m reading short notes and whole reflective essays showing appreciation for seeing / hearing / #learning about people like them who are responsible for our so much of our #history but missing from our standard texts.
Also, students who just completed an intro course are vowing to learn more! 🤩 #histodons #teaching #CivicEducation

@stepwinder moving away from tests and quizzes is incredibly liberating, the formality, inhumanity, structures, and implications of tests and quizzes are so constraining and limiting. I don't see a scenario where I will return to them either. #ungrading
