So... question

#ChatGPT is a "research preview"

To me, this signals a few things

1. It is not the fully baked
2. It could go away at any second
3. They are tracking all usage for product development

Am I leaving anything out? And are there other examples of tech being released this way? This kind of release feels unique to me.

If #ChatGPT is a "Public Beta" why not call it that?

Then it would at least be familiar to developers and gamers.

Why call it a "Research Preview"?

@Autumm it's just interesting to see 2 things related to this
1) the stories coming out about Google not being comfortable with releasing their version of a conversation agent
2) ChatGTPs owners shopping a $29billion IPO.

Feels like a lot of sizzle for $$$ with less steak

@ZingerLearns

Yes it is a show off marketing ploy for their own valuation for sure. That needs to go on my list!
