The "deep lesson" has to do with how we collectively design information access systems, and our choices in this moment. Do we lean in to #AIhype or do we level up information hygiene? Do we accept inevitability narratives about centralized control of info systems, or do we resist?

I think what worries me most about chatGPT is how easily and uncritically people accept the responses as true or accurate. I have seen "experts" identify inaccuracies, errors, bias, etc, but in most other cases people seem to accept with awe and wonder in what seems like a scene out of the Wizard of Oz, while accepting blindly what should not be acceptable.
