Interesting about the persistent narrative around teacher turnover...how would it compare to industry? Especially some companies that are allegedly "good" to work for.

@ZingerLearns @edutooters Interesting! But presumably these people don't leave tech completely. It's two different things to consider - how long people stay at one company but then move in the same industry, versus how long it takes them to move industries. I feel with teaching it is always said that a ridiculously high number of trainees leave teaching altogether within the first 5 years...

That is a great point, in the policy literature teachers are often bucketed into stayer, movers, and leavers.
I do wonder about how fact based the whole 50% leave in 3 years is. When I investigated, for LAUSD a very large urban district, they reported only a 5% yearly attrition rate.
