We are looking for talented junior scientists to join our International Max Planck Research School for Language Sciences in Nijmegen, the Netherlands. Two fully-funded 4-year #PhD fellowships (2024-2028) are available to carry out cutting-edge research on #genetics and #development of human #language, with several innovative projects to choose from, co-supervised by leading researchers at the Max Planck Institute and our partners at the Radboud University. Projects include investigating rare #DNA variants in genes that cause developmental speech/language disorders, and neuroimaging #genomic analyses of language circuits in the brain.

@ZingerLearns @edutooters Interesting! But presumably these people don't leave tech completely. It's two different things to consider - how long people stay at one company but then move in the same industry, versus how long it takes them to move industries. I feel with teaching it is always said that a ridiculously high number of trainees leave teaching altogether within the first 5 years...

But she was worth somewhere in the low 8 figures before the deal, and compensation seems to be somewhere in the 5-10 mil range, including stock options (for the now private company that has lost most of its value).

I just can’t see it paying off better in the long term if she very publicly trashes her reputation.
