@ZingerLearns Yep. It should have been a pick-6. Dak narrowly avoiding a safety on the very next play showed how lost he was near the end of the game.

My contribution to #nfl mastodon: The racist dude that owns the Cowboys keeps refering to his franchise as "America's Team" and I just want to point out that most Americans don't like to be associated with has-been racist losers. ijs

The only thing that surprised me was that Dak didn't throw a 3rd INT, I fully expected one at the end there.
Goodbye
Would be great to see a rematch of the 1987 Superbowl

A gun's a tool for killing,
A tool for murder and blood spilling.

Who buys a tool to let it rust?
Pulling the trigger becomes a must.

A gun will whisper night and day
To a weak-minded owner, *Come, let's play!*

In the darkened mind a struggle's begun,
On this sad sad day, the gun has won.

Okay, here *is* a place where I could use some help from folks who really understand the Fediverse.

I swear I remember reading somewhere about an agreed upon set of norms that instances have to sign on to in order to join. Did I imagine that?

Are there conditions for joining the Fediverse, or is it just join and if you're super toxic everyone eventually blocks you?

DeSantis is a white supremacist and makes no attempt to hide it.

Black professor leads “Teach the Truth” tours in Florida ✊🏾

“I can’t tell the story of the Newberry Six without expressing my disgust for the lynching of a pregnant woman,” said Dunn, 82, a professor emeritus at Florida International University. “As a teacher who has spent 30 years going from place to place in Florida where the most atrocious things have happened, I don’t know how to do that. And I don’t want the state telling me that I must.”

I keep seeing articles on how ChatGPT can pass advanced business, medical, and university tests. I am yet to see these tests problematized in these articles for their lack of sophistication and over reliance on rote memorization.

Lessons of History #4: Those who don't know History find it much easier to simply make stuff up and dig in on it. Those who do tend to equivocate and distort, by they're limited by those nuggets of reality stuck in their minds.

--Oh and Florida banning (banning!) AP African American history ought to be enough of a mask off moment to wake up anyone who thought this was about some kind of historically unstable, politically charged courses. This is the got dammed college board and all the most moderate of moderate and boring voices in history.

So cannon you could put balls in it and sink a ship.

I can only assume they want young people to learn literal myths and legends. Chopped cherry trees and all instead.

The thing of it is that we have no real use case for activism on the fediverse as compared to Twitter, but we have PLENTY of examples of the impediments to activism on the fediverse as demonstrated by the conduct of instance admins and the broader fediverse culture.

I would say that it is less the case that I am limiting my imagination, and more the case of comparing two use cases on platforms by virtue of their cultural and technical structures.

During a time for telling in one of my biology classes yesterday I had just described how plants get water from the soil all the way up to their leaves. “Now explain this process to each other at your tables,” I said. Then I added, “And remember, whoever is doing the talking is doing the learning.”
As I began to walk around the room to listen in, I heard a student say to his group, “Okay, I want to do the learning this time.”
Huge teacher and student win!

Don't think I have seen anyone on here talking about this article on the increasingly untenable state of Ph.D. preparation
An interesting piece in light of some recent conversations about academia, industry, and Ph.Ds.
Especially interesting for me in light of the significant raise that University of California graduate students received as a result of their recent strike which will likely result in a significant reduction in Ph.D. admits into the system.

Between this guy, and Santos the GOP really seems to be trying to shift the overton window on the responsibility of a political party to vet the candidates it supports. Though, really, they’ve been doing that for several cycles now.

By the way, a tax of up to 5% on the world’s multi-millionaires and billionaires could raise $1.7 trillion/year.

That would be enough to lift 2 billion people out of poverty and fund a global plan to end hunger.

We can't afford NOT to tax the rich.
