It seems that even for posts that are not replies, like your one ( https://mastodon.online/@teixi@mastodon.social/109403203208344090 ) the link to another post is also broken, ie takes you to a page where you can't reply to the linked to post.

yep this is a ui feature poorly conceived for navigation within each instance, but totally misleads `Copy link to post` shareability.
you're in m[.]online thus Copy & Paste in your post results in:
m[.]online/[@]teixi[@]m[.]social/IDending4090
yet my Copy & Paste results in:
m[.]social[@]teixi/IDending2739
for you starts with your instance and ends with the ID of your instance, and the other way around for me.
works for ui, not for links
