I'm looking for an opinion/feeling in native english speakers, maybe also who are scientists in prenatal development.
Do you ascribe the words "fetal" and "prenatal" different meaning?
Dictionary wise they are the same, but I have this "feeling" that fetal is earlier in gestation, while pre-natal is closer to birth.
But I have no idea where this feeling comes from, or if it might be my other languages shining through.
@Drmowinckels Not sure, I've never thought about it but I've mostly used 'prenatal/postnatal' to indicate a stage or phenomenon and 'fetal' to indicate the something pertaining to the actual fetus.
I don't think I have a linguistic basis for this though, just an intuitive sense of which goes where, and that could be entirely wrong.
