Sorry for breaking character here, but how much realism and how much fun do you hope to take out of this?
I love challenges that make me think, but this was originally meant to be a fun thing. Prepared to change course, if you want to.

I wasn't sure how serious or silly you wanted to be. Figured I'd start with some probing questions and see where the night took us. If you'd like I'm all about playing around with a more defensible position if you're just looking to fence? Or we can take turtle to the very edges of absurdity - I'm just here to have a good time

On a related note, i propose that confusion is the most important thing there is. As a turtle, i need some variety in this long life.
And clearly, turtles are the most important species: Not only do we clean plastic sixpackholders out of the ocean, we also care very much about turtles!

So, do you have any confusion to share?

And btw this can be some long running thread where we just dump crazy thoughts whenever it suits us. Would like to see how well that would work.

@admitsWrongIfProven confusion you say? Confusion is frustrating, scary - when your leg hurts and won't work but you can't see that it's a plastic sixpackholder causing the problem. Variety though? A tiny smidge of chaos, maybe? These seem like wonderful things indeed.

A hint of chaos for your day then? You have in fact gone crazy. I? Am you. Prove otherwise so we may both bend a knee to the mighty turtle. Else, both be but two of yours.

In fact, you are me. The only thing i can ever know is what i think, nothing else. I am a turtle because it is a thought in my head, all external sensations could be fake. Yet, there is the wish to prove i am not myself, thus i concur: i have gone crazy!

Luckily, this is not a bad thing. We are all just one turtle with internal communication problems, but that does not mean we cannot be happy!

@admitsWrongIfProven but to fragment we need separate a part from the whole. A kindness to the whole, or the part? Can separation ever be a kindness to both?

@shadowsonawall I would say blocking communication also constitutes fragmentation, while there is no absolute separation. Blocking of communication is reversible.

But the good questions of "kindness to the whole or the part?" and "Can separation ever be a kindness to both?" remain.

We want to be kind to our whole self, so we want to block the part that causes damage. But we would like to repair the part that causes damage, for what we would need to communicate. A question of feasibility?

In this hypothetical world where there are multiple entities, maybe there is kindness to both by separation. Maybe there are parts that are not bad in themselfs, but incompatible?

This humanity made of separate entities that has been dreamt of, is it actually strictly seperate parts? Or a whole that communicates too badly to understand its nature as a whole?

As a singular eternal turtle, i do not reproduce, but those phantasmal humans, do they exist for a noticable timespan without reproduction? Can they reproduce by themselfs?

So if you would take one human, it could be kept alive far apart from all others for a moment, but then just expires. Like if you take a braincell out of a brain, you could keep it alive for a while, but what would be the significance of that?

Maybe this dream of humans does not make all that much sense. Better to work on improving communications between the parts of the eternal turtle.
