@freemo I saw a nightclub owner complaining about being banned from a instance (not qoto). It seems this happened because of the commercial nature of the account.
What is the official qoto stance on such things? Are businesses welcome? Are there rules for this, including promotion?

@trinsec @freemo
It is a bit vague. "Any account setup solely to advertise a product or service" is the only reference i find, and would probably not be very reassuring for someone posting mixed stuff. And has been kicked off somewhere else for "being a business".
The character of this persons blog is quite mixed, with general stuff not related to the business, mixtapes and business related things.
I would think if the content posted here was the same, it should fit quite well. But as long as there is only the "not solely to advertize" rule, i would not think it was reasonable to suggest qoto to this person.

@trinsec

If its for profit its not allowed here, but there are instances that is welcome (most in fact)... We are for STEM only and non-profit only

That said if you occasionally post something about a for-profit project you work on among other unrelated stuff we wont mind.

@freemo @trinsec Thank you for answering. I guess i should not invite the person concerned here, since it seems if i guess correctly and half their content would somehow touch the for profit business, it would not be a good fit.
Bit of a shame since their take on federation seems a perfect fit.
