haven't watched in a while so another larken rose video, this time beautifully deconstructing collectivist bullshit
@bonifartius Nothing he says in the first two minutes is wrong, but damn is he annoying.
Can we talk about these topics directly? I really cannot stand the self-righteous and drawn out way this guy talks.
Challenge accepted; What do you want to talk about?
I stand for voluntaryism, I own myself and anything I produce no one else has any right to take.
I claim that taxation is theft.
I claim that people don't want to pay for all the things that the ruling class decide for them to pay for, because if they did, we wouldn't need a violent structure to steal those funds.
I claim that violence is only morally valid to meet/stop aggression and everyone can do it
@niclas @bonifartius All that you claim is correct.
I'd guess people are more afraid of change than happy with how scammy things are done currently. Can't find a more respectable word for what the ruling class does. Community efforts should be voluntary, convincing people instead of forcing them.
One would need to find some structure to agree on community projects, aside from the structures that failed in the way you describe, that's an open point.
I'd guess you don't want "libertarian village eaten by bears" all over again, what you wrote is too mindful for that.
Now this is a bit awkward in the regard that i meant to find out more about the motives of german movements that are known for less reasonable ideas, like racism. To see if media portrayal might have been false or exaggerated. But we can talk anyways, you wrote good stuff there.
@niclas @bonifartius I think defenses are meaningless.
Either there are enough people saying "Nope, not doing it. We need to start fresh" (looking to the end of former east germany here, peaceful revolution). Or, it will be impossible to defend against a whole military. Shame they got sucked up by a system just as bad which only looked nicer.
Also, you mentioned nonviolence except in self defense or defense of others. I agree.
To declare a system change by few people would not be legitimate, and thus any violence would not be in self defense, thus unethical. So by principle, any major change needs most or at least 50%+ of the population anyway. And with most people agreeing, government forces are meaningless, thus no defense needed.
@niclas @bonifartius Hm yeah, the part about the unhinged states makes sense. They tend to do war crimes with abandon.
@admitsWrongIfProven
Well, defense is an issue, because I don't think you can get a majority of the world to come to transition at the same time. I think it will be small steps, rings on water, and slow spread.
Tyrants elsewhere (e.g. USA) might want to invade and "re-instate democracy", ahead of the wave of change coming their way.
Also, I think "critical mass" is smaller than 50%, and I think the change will be sudden for a given region.
