I sit here watching the Sig-afta strike over (in part) AI replacing the need for actors and extras..... wait till these people hear about cartoons!
@freemo Wait till those that have decided not to pay the humans discover how useless the so-called "ai" is. Oh well, we didn't get nice movies for a while, not much of a difference. The industry's dead.
@admitsWrongIfProven There is that too, if the humans deserve the pay they will either get it or the industry fails... They are either worth it or their not.
@freemo In any case, your idea of regulating monopolies is a good one.
Leave one or two companies in charge, "ai" bullshit will ruin it and nobody will be there to pick up the pace.
Oh well, we still have the classics. Because we don't subscribe to "rental" models like DRM but actually store the stuff we have ;-)
@admitsWrongIfProven Yea, it will likely be a long turn around.. the industry will fall quite a ways farther before it realizes it fucked up. AI for lead roles is pretty cringe and honestly the more physical special effects was always much better, still is.

AI is fine when we talk about masses of people such as wide angle war scenes. When it comes to lead roles the humans are better for sure.
