@jeffcliff A request for comment:
In germany, we currently have lots of protests against the AFD. It is seen as anticonstitutional even by the state organs responsible, so that's a strong statement considering their general right wing leanings.

Now i know you are frequently against protests for the reason of possible covid transmission.

As far as i know, indoor activities transmit covid far more than outdoor, and protesting is an outdoor activity. Meanwhile, the status quo in germany is unmasked indoor activities are allowed and normal. For this reason i would posit that protests must only have a miniscule impact on overall covid transmissions, taking into account the more dangerous everyday activities taking place.

Furthermore, the AFD crowd is notorious for relativizing covid risks, and would, if elected, surely worsen the situation. So protesting is an investment in future possibility of covid measures.

With these points, i think it is genuinely positive to have those protests, even if we would rank covid as clear number one of dangers. (i rank climate, covid and wars about equal, as they would all end the possibility of a pleasant life if i get a direct impact, but for the sake of argument here i assume covid = #1)
