@dave It's funny, when video streaming came up there were concerns about network usage. Now, you can use up lots of energy for your individual movie and it's no concern.

Maybe specialised hardware will help with that

@Hyolobrika @dave Wondering a bit what the usecase is... if movies get boring because companies don't want to risk anything on fresh ideas, would it not be better to break up monopolies that restrict artistic freedom? The alternative sounds to me like "let problems fester, throw computing power into distractions".

Copyright abolition is a good idea too.
But maybe open source AI will make it impossible to enforce anyway.

@Hyolobrika @dave Never worry what "ai" does, it is not intelligent. There's always a human behind it, using it for some purpose.

But it makes the human's task easier, wouldn't you say?

@Hyolobrika That is not a given. It is a tool, and as such it can be used in reasonable ways, in destructive ways and also misused doing harm even if there was no bad intention. Just as any other tool.
What always strikes me in discussion about tools is that the discussion about goals and what can be achieved without new tools is omitted - see "let problems fester".
