I recently got the full brunt of someone complaining at me for RHEL RPM packaging "breaking" things for portability of an RPM to FreeBSD. But that led to a question: is there any platform evolution work going on in the BSD camps, such as improvements to FHS, systems/software management, hardware support, etc.? The few times I've poked at some BSDs, it seemed like nothing ever happens...
But perhaps that's just ignorance. Any BSD folks following me know if there's such stuff done in their camps?
