--Oh and Florida banning (banning!) AP African American history ought to be enough of a mask off moment to wake up anyone who thought this was about some kind of historically unstable, politically charged courses. This is the got dammed college board and all the most moderate of moderate and boring voices in history.
So cannon you could put balls in it and sink a ship.
I can only assume they want young people to learn literal myths and legends. Chopped cherry trees and all instead.
And let's be clear. No student would ever be forced to take this course. It's already a course in many many many schools and has been for decades.
But, as an elective not having an AP test means that it hurts the GPAs of students who choose to take it rather than one of the other AP options.
This is just anti-black-people, no other way around it. No fig leaf. Nothing.
@futurebird
Absolutely. It's not just openly anti-black it is aggressively anti-black for the purpose of attracting racist support and money -- and media still refuse to cover it that way.
@CvilleTgr @jeffjarvis @futurebird Calling it a tool is absolutely spot on. The media, the oil barons, the arms manufacturers, the criminal justice system, and the private prison owners are all in bed together, and the tools they weild are to keep them on top, and keep us from joining their club. The billionaires themselves may or may not be racist, but either way they cynically use the systemic racism as a tool to manipulate voters. The fact that the policies of their pet politicians have real, tangible effects on American citizens (and the entire planet) is just collateral damage in a class war disguised as a culture war.
