As generative algorithms put content farms on steroids and make search results even lower quality than they already are:

There's nothing more powerful and informative than finding community.

I've always sourced a lot of information directly from people, and that's becoming extra important as the web fills up with garbage content.

So, uh, seriously: thank you all for being a part of my life. Y'all make good living possible 💖

@josh I feel this so strongly. Community is a resource that shifts from looking up to learning about. So the question of trust in human strangers is going to become more important, as are the threats to trust. Months ago @StillIRise1963 and I were talking about what scammers really achieve—that we all default to suspicion—and I’m still thinking about that.

@kate @josh @StillIRise1963 Scammers making us suspicious is both a curse and a blessing. I've made a lot of great new friends here since the Twitter Exodus, but I always check out their profile and history before I follow or be followed. This place is mostly safe, but there are..shall we say..."operatives" here and there. Trust but verify. Maybe we should thank the scammers for making us a little more careful. It sucks that we can't automatically trust everyone, but c'est la guerre
