Public education certainly has some problems, but charter schools are a scam, even more so when they are basically disguised parochial schools.
And have you seen the textbooks they use for home schooling? OMG!
And one more thing. Did you listen to the educated when they told you to wear a mask and get a vaccine? Trump didn't, and neither did his worshippers.
Education is a vital part of the human experience, and if it is seen as an indicator of class, that is a fault of the system, not a fault of education itself.
I wish for, I long for, I yearn for more ducation, but I can't afford it. Am I being classist because of that?

Let me see if I understand what you are saying, because I don't want to unintentionally misrepresent your position.
Are you saying that public school in America is the primary way that people are indoctrinated in the U.S., and that as such it is uniquely different to other educational systems around the world?
Because that's what it sounds like you are saying.
@ambulocetus @Radical_EgoCom Literacy is essential & needs to be accessible to everyone for free. So is all basic life skills & the resources to have a dignified existence.
But my point was about *listening to educated* aka listen to those who are indoctrinated thru the system designed by & for ruling class.
As to vaccine, I dint take one & I wouldnt take one, esp the ones that went thru 3 months of "development" when anything less than 3 years is generally considered as not tested, esp when those selling those vaccines had no liability thanks to bribes they pay to politicians & regulators to get such sweet corrupt deals.
I took all precautions to minimise the likelihood of me being exposed to virus — masking, social distancing, hand wash, avoiding crowded places & more.
So, education is not what state & capital indoctrinates us with in schools, public or private. It's a system designed to make us complaint and make us see their rotten system is fair & hide or bad mouth every other system of existence.
So, in the context we all live in, *listen to educated* has a significant amount of class attached to it.
We don't have to tell listen to "experts". State & Capital decides which aspects of society gets funded & which one doesn't (by stealing from everyone in society they so called "laws"). They decide who is an "expert" by & large when it comes to many aspects that have law/policy implications . So, the "experts" that are presented to us are already tainted even before we see any "expert" on TV & almost all scientific journals has a lot of buddy culture who subject papers from industry to be accepted with less scrutiny while ones from those who oppose industry (for legitimate reasons from their PoV) gets sent to those who would reject them for publication.
In summary, yes, *listen to educated* in today's society is classist.
