@futurebird I'm thinking about trying Nebula. I've heard good things about it.
@ambulocetus @futurebird Nebula is pretty good, but it's quite limited in what it carries — it's curated so it's YouTube-style content with a Netflix-style catalog size. I like it but it's not enough on its own.
That's one of the good things about Nebula. It's not full of fluff. There are some channels I wish were there instead of just on YouTube. Luckily I still don't see any ads on YouTube, even midroll. When the day comes that I can no longer evade them, or have to pay an exorbitant fee, I'm likely to say goodbye to even the channels I love.
@EverydayMoggie @andrewt @futurebird I probably will check it out. The ads on Youtube are the absolute worst, but I have an ad-blocker so that's not what grinds my gears. It's that stupid algorithm. It insists on trying to show me things that I will hate instead of things I want to watch. I don't know if it's designed to try and get me to "hate-watch", but that won't work on me. It just makes me angry.
And that crappy search engine. It's like "Hey I know you were looking for something else, but remember when you watched this an hour ago? Want to watch it again?"
@ambulocetus @futurebird Yeah, Nebula sounds more up my alley. I'm thinking I might even sign up for Shudder for spooky month.
