@TechConnectify Well when I describe it as "stairs", it's not really like big stairs like going upstairs stairs. That's just like a short-hand way to think about it. Think like closer to one of those little 3D pictures that are two different pitures depending on from which angle it is viewed. But not quite that small.
So it could be manufactured as a single sheet that goes right over the existing roof

You're partner has been kidnapped and you have drive 30 minutes away to rescue her. Do you listen to music on the way?

@TechConnectify I remember back in the 80s there was a kid who got a little famous because he won a Science Fair, and his idea was so brilliant that it got him on a TV talk show. People were talking about it and there were experts saying that it was a good idea, but then we never heard of it again.
So his idea was to shape the roof a house like stair steps, and the top of the "step" was painted white and the front was painted black. That way when the sun shone on the roof in summer, it would bounce off of the white paint, and in the winter when the sun is lower in the sky, the light would strike the front and be absorbed by the black paint.
My admittedly aging memory is telling me that he may even have applied for a patent, but it was a long time ago. There must be something wrong with this idea or else we would have seen it, but I can't think of what it might be.

I doubt that this will become law, but merely the fact that they're trying means they should not be lawmakers.

58 years ago the first week of March 1965, in Selma, AL, USA, 600 Americans started a 50-mile march towards AL state capitol of Montgomery. They were protesting laws that prevented Black Americans from exercising voting rights. Predictably, as the demonstrators walked to the Edmund Pettus Bridge, Alabama State troopers used menacing, violence, and tear gas to disperse them.

@sindarina When he says, "there is terrible power in a joke, in a story..." the power he is refering to is called the Power of Narrative. Humans are story telling creatures, and that's why stories and jokes have that power. Everyone on the side of progress should learn about to harness that power for good instead of evil.

Do you think Captain Hook bought his hook at a Second Hand store?

@marmel Not only funny, but it makes an important point. Reactionaries are by definition predictable, and predictability makes them easy to manipulate. Taking the high road clearly hasn't worked, so it's time to play dirty and start manipulating them.

HAHAHAHAHAHA!
Dunno where it's from but god bless this artist.

@kate @josh @StillIRise1963 Scammers making us suspicious is both a curse and a blessing. I've made a lot of great new friends here since the Twitter Exodus, but I always check out their profile and history before I follow or be followed. This place is mostly safe, but there are..shall we say..."operatives" here and there. Trust but verify. Maybe we should thank the scammers for making us a little more careful. It sucks that we can't automatically trust everyone, but c'est la guerre
