But it's not an either/or situation. You can do more than one thing. Why not do all of the things?
Maybe you don't care if Trump gets re-elected, but we have POC and LGBT friends who care very much.
When trans people are being sent to death camps, will you say "at least I sent a message by not voting"
Use every tool in the toolbox.
@Frances_Larina @StillIRise1963 In a natural system, the various peices finIn a natural system, the various peices find an equilibrium and a balance is found . Competeition and cooperation are 2 sides of the same coin in the wild.
Human's one sided coin of hyper competitiveness is not natural at all.

Perhaps something like a travel agency for health care in other countries? People are already doing it, but some kind of semi-official organization could make it safer.
One thing you might like about my new cosmology book is the intuitive analogies: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/weiner/the-universe-abridged-beyond-the-point-of-usefulness?ref=6vghse
@StillIRise1963 Oh no. Did they turn into Sovreign Citizens? Stay away from that.
Speaking of Oppenheimer, here is a video of nuclear destruction set to the music of Pink Floyd. No gore and only indirect violence, but it might make you cry.

I practice Tai Chi. If I need to protect myself and I don't have a Tai Chi sword, I will use a machete or a katana or a broadsword. Whatever it takes to get the job done. If I have to use something different to save my life, that doesn't mean thay I'm not a Tai Chi student anymore.
What I'm trying to say is - just because you have to go vote to save your friends from being killed by the nazis, that doesn''t mean aren't an anarchist anymore. It just means that you had to use a different tool to do a certain job.
Am I making sense?

My family split in half along party lines. If I knew then what I know now I might have been able to forestall it. It is possible to change minds, but neither side is very good at it. But our advantage is that can learn knew ways to do things, like Deep Canvassing, Street Epistemology, and Attitude Inoculation. It may be too late for your parents, but maybe you can help cousins or neices to not go down the same path.
@futurebird Do you have a fan club? Because I want to join.

They have something akin to a script. It goes something like this-
Aunt Karen produces a piece of misinformation.
You say "that's misinformation"
Aunt Karen says 12 or 15 things that would take you all day to debunk.
You say, "I don't have time to tell you how many things are wrong wth that, but you're wrong and I don't want to hear it"
Aunt Karen "YOu're Censoring me!"
I call it a script because it is so predictable, but that is their vulnerability. It's your job to be unpredictable to break their script so that they can't use it.
Their script is a defense mechanism that protects them from new ideas. If the script is broken, new ideas may get inside their head. Watch this 2 minute video for more info. https://youtu.be/ASn-VdevwTE
@jmsdnns Oh man, that's egregious. And will probably slip under the radar too.
