@ylove It's an old gambit. You accuse the media of bias in one direction, then they fall all over themselves to paddle in the opposite direction to show that they aren't biased. It's exactly how the word "liberal" became an epithet. They accused the media of liberal bias, and it moved them further to the right. It's not a sophisticated strategy, but it seems to be effective, so I'm guessing it will work.

Presidential race 2024

@MexicanYenta If she is the nominee I will def vote for her, but if she decides to run third party I can't. Until we get Ranked Choice Voting, a third party vote is counter-productive at best.

Twitter has laid off "at least" 200 people – about 10% of its remaining workforce

@twitterisgoinggreat Interesting that the should report how fascist oligarchs dispose of loyal sycophants once they are no longer useful. I mean, that could never happen to them, could it?

@froomkin It sounds to me like you two are using different definitions for the word "Liberal". Perhaps he is one of those people who use fallcies such as the Fallacy of Equivocation as weapons. Pin him down and make him stick to one single definition of the word that you can both agree with, and you might find it to be a more productive conversation.

@cyrilpedia Teplizumab sounds like the name of a god from a forgotten culture.

@froomkin They bend over backwards to make the fringe seem mainstream, but when the fringe is done with them, they will be thrown under the bus, and their willingmess to bend over backwards will be used as evidence that they can't be trusted. They are and

@Incognitim With so-called like the and and even the doing such a shitty job these days, it's a wonder that there are still informed peoiple such as ourselves at all anymore. One really has to go out of ones way to get the low-down with all the spin, calumny, distortion, and obfuscation going on. Don't they realize that they are playing reight into the hands of the Fascists? First they do as they are bid, then, when it is a Fait Accompli, they will be thrown under the bus and besmirched and defamed as the Lugenрresse by their own masters. Stupid .

@Radical_EgoCom@kolektiva.social It is sadly true that voting is unlikely to make things better, but it is also true that not voting is certain to make things worse. That is unless you prefer to allow reactiuonary bigots to make all of your decisions for you.
