Anyone else having trouble replying to tweets?

(I am, but this is sort of a joke question as if you do reply you are not.)

Yes, Home Derpot is a typographical error, but I like it and I am keeping it. In fact I may call them that from now on. 😀

I took the day off to wait for the guy from to figure out why my internet kept going out. They were supposed to arrive between 11 and 2, so when 2 o'clock rolls around, I give them a call to ask where he's at. They said they checked my service remotely and nothing is wrong with my service, so they cancelled my appointment without telling me. I told them I disagree and there is obviously something wrong because I am not on the internet. So I cancelled my service. Forever. You see, I don't forget things like this. About 20 years ago, &T was complicit in helping the George W Bush administration spy on American citizens, and I cancelled my service immediately and never gave them a single penny again. Granted, standing me up and losing a day of work isn't quite in the same league as betraying the trust of the country that allowed you to prosper, but from now on, AT&T and Xfinity are on the same list of companies I will not ever give money to, along with Chick Fil-A, Hobby Lobby, Home Derpot, and several others.

@robpegoraro The quotes around the word "verbiage" weren't because I thought you were refering to my post. I was mocking you. You used the word in an incorrect manner; something one would think a so-called freelance journalist would know.

@robpegoraro Are being obtuse on purpose? I thought my "verbiage" was simple and clear.

@robpegoraro Corporate media is irrelevant and anachronistic. As Jello Biafra said, "Don't hate the media; become the media."

@alexwild That's great news, but considering that it's Florida, I won't be surprised if DeSantis puts on his big white boots and goes there to personally step on the remaining beetles, just to show the Fish and Wildlife Service that they can't tell him what to do.

I kind of miss when I had to defrag the computer and I could just watch the little animation of how it was all getting less fragmented and pretend that my life was also coming together like that.

Since #Nashville #Tennessee has been trending quite a bit lately, I'd like to remind the Fediverse™ that there is a mastodon instance for Nashville citizens and related accounts, focused on building in-person relationships and making local change: nashtodon.com

Full disclosure - I run that instance. And we're having a party when we get to 100 users. And yes, there will be a band.

@Khrys The secret is that they pull the wool over your eyes so slowly that it's almost imperceptable. By the time you wonder what happened, it's too late. For example, remember after 9/11 when they wanted to institute a new form of identification called "Real-ID" and everyone said that they were against it, and they weren't going to let it happen? They moved slowly and now we have it and nobody even let out a squeak about it.
