Apparently the recently talked about poll that had Biden and Trump tied 46/46 has less than ideal funding sources and some people do not think it should have gotten so much attention from the Wall Street Journal and several cable news networks.

I posted about it here, so I wanted to mention that it's been questioned too.

@Wikisteff @Haste @gulovsen The most aggravating thing, to me, is that Republicans use the power they have (like the filibuster) to block Democrats from doing even the most minor stuff to make things better. Then they spread lies to politically naive people that Democrats aren't doing anything, in the hope they'll vote 3rd party or stay home . And when Democrats do manage to get something good through, like the infrastructure bill, they try to take credit for it even when they voted no.

For anyone unaware, Google Chrome is currently rolling out an update that track your interests based on browsing history, then share them with 3rd party websites. The notification page makes it sound like they added a new privacy feature, but in actuality they've automatically enrolled you into their tracking system and you have to go and manually opt out.

Future gains being harder seems like a reasonable conclusion

While I believe the fediverse is the best way forward for social media, and hope Twitter emigrants will choose a truly decentralized future, the immediate goal should be to make the deadbird site irrelevant for everyone who wants a refuge from the rancid extremism that Musk is promoting there.
