In 2020 I thought there was no way we'd still be thinking about this when my kid starts kindergarten in fall 2023 but that's looking more and more likely?

From anecdotal stories here, yes. Flu A is particularly bad here at the moment for kids, a lot of strep too.
We've had our kids home since 2020 b/c of my health issues, and it has been ... difficult. Not being able to tell them when they are going back has been even more difficult, particularly for our older kid.

Apparently while were on vacation half the daycare got rsv

Answering the question, I had no idea really when they would go back. I love my current doc b/c she's very clear about what my risk is and what the preferred path for my family is if I ask. Chronic disease means planning is hard / disappointing, so I try not to plan.
I've heard RSV is terrible, our kids never got it. You got lucky!
@amytabb I'm pretty sure we got it last October! And by we, I mean I was the only one with any symptoms
