This turn-based strategy game once started as a #GGJ submission, and ended up with a sequel. Isometric perspective and hand-crafted pixelart help this game look timeless 🪖🎨

OpenTTD turns 20 this year and to celebrate we're preparing for one of our largest ever releases.
It's packed with 40 new features, 80 changes, and almost 150 fixes.
In the upcoming weeks we will share more posts explaining some of these features in depth. For now, we need your help testing our work.
We need as many people as possible to test this beta version of the 14.X release series, so you can find and we can fix as many bugs as possible before the actual release.

UART and I2C hump day!
Cleaned up the last two modes, the build server will post a firmware in the forum. I2C is tricky because we need to figure out when to NACK the final byte in a read. I did not solve that yet because it would be a nasty hack.
Around the #RISC_V there are a growing economy, I think soon we will have risc-v everywhere, the #openhardware #CPU with #Risc architetture is a modern rush for the gold, where many will rise and fall, but for now we are only still at the beginning full of hope by everyone.
#Veyron V2 is a new #ARM CPU produce by #Ventana a company founded only in 2018 that claims "Veyron V2 is World’s Highest Performance Data Center-Class"

@mcnees if you are interested in building your own (and preferentially have access to a 3D printer), check out OpenUC2: https://openuc2.com/#school
They make modular kits of 3D-printable DIY cubes that magnetically snap together, producing anything from a kid's classroom kit to full-blown fluorescence microscopes. Shop doesn't work yet, but they have all #openhardware specs and 3D print files online.
For the smallest kit they claim ca 80€ in self-sourced parts: https://github.com/openUC2/UC2-GIT/tree/master/TheBOX/SimpleBOX
You remember the barrel maker workshop we cleaned out recently to convert into our very own camera electronics manufacturing facility. While not everything is finished yet the big machine journey of stencil printer, pick and place machine and conveyor re-flow oven happened yesterday together with hundreds of other small things. Everything arrived safely and the new space is taking shape!

We are working on integrating sensors to both #GNUHealth and #MyGNUHealth. If you work on free/libre hardware, please contact us. We'd love to partner 🤗 🩺

Dear community. Since the latest iPhone sh*tshow, and I am pretty sure there is some Android not out yet, can we please create/design an open handheld for only Signal/Matrix/...? No 4G/5G calls (that is the most difficult to implement), just 4/5G data and calls over those message services only?
I have some basic experience when I worked for the Ubuntu Phone, I can help with the OS level, but I have zero experience with hardware design.
I am going slowly insane ... Too. Many. Beautiful. Images. Out there in the latent space ... 🤯

I made a new blog post, and in it I show how I build a device to monitor the voltage of a 12V battery and share it over the Internet. Something that might be useful for remote astrophotography rigs or when building off-grid power installations. I'm using a Raspberry Pi Pico and some basic circuitry to make it all work. Take a look!

Hay alguien en Buenos Aires que este experimentando con #LoRa? Alguien se prende para armar una red, probar distancias y eso? Tengo 3 nodos funcionando, pero estaría bueno extender un poco el alcance y ver que tan confiable es.
