Full text search: pleroma supports it but mastodon doesn't for privacy reasons.
Not sure what pixelfed will support, leaning towards no full text search. #pixeldev
@dansup not sure if this is intentionally simplified but mastodon does support it via elasticsearch, just in an intentionally limited scope (your own toots, boosts, and faves, maybe other stuff i'm forgetting)

On qoto.org there is full text search, and frankly is quite useful.
Yesterday I was looking for a post of some days ago where we talked about a banana, would have had to scroll the local timeline for 10 minutes to find it if it wasn't for full text search. I'm not sure how much overhead does it give to the server though, and in that case should be likely limited
