I'm generally perturbed by 2fa. Everyone is doing it these days, with the result that we are even more tied to our phones. It is just trading one evil, which people fear, for one which they haven't yet learned to fear.
@worldsendless It's strange to me that people associate 2fa solely with their phones. Google authenticator wormed it's way into our heads and it stuck I guess. There are lots of ways to do 2fa though. I use Bitwarden to store totps so I can use a phone, computer, or any browser with the extension.

@worldsendless I use their servers and pay the $10/yr for extra features like totp. A free account gets you a really solid password manager, and unlike others you can be logged in on multiple devices, but I like the product and it's a way to support an open source project. In addition to passwords you can also save credit card info, ID info like driver's license or passport, and notes. I don't use the secure notes feature much but I can see how it'd be useful for a group/corporate account. Thought about self hosting but decided against it. It would save me the $10 but I don't want to lose access to my passwords when the power goes out at home or stuff like that. Their encryption is also pretty solid. I primarily use the app on my phone or the Firefox extension but there's also a desktop version (inc. Linux) or you can use the 'web vault' (aka just log in on the website). If you have any specific questions I'll answer them as best I can but that's kind of a high level word salad overview.
