Every time someone complains about Biden's taxes I want to pry their eyes open Clockwork Orange style and force them to read the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017.
Net taxes were higher for people making under $20k right from the start. It was also intended that income taxes start increasing again in 2021 for people making $40k+. It's right there in the fucking law. In fact, if Congress doesn't do anything the income tax cuts will expire completely in 2025.
**Only the corporate tax cuts were meant to be permanent.** Income taxes will continue to rise in order to offset the deficit increase brought by the 2017 law, and it will primarily impact those making less than $75k.
I don't even like Biden. His only job as far as I'm concerned was to get Trump out, then sit on his hands for 4 years while we figure shit out. However, anyone who thinks Republicans stand for 'small government' and working Americans clearly has not been paying attention.
@PsychoCod3r Well, creating an NFT is not the same thing as a copyright. Miramax already holds the copyright and has for the last ~30 years. NFTs are kind of uncharted territory for copyright though. The last major overhaul of the law in the US was in the 70s, so it's not even equipped to deal with digital media, let alone fake ownership via blockchains.

It is permissible for private citizens to be disrespectful to lawmakers who have personally threatened state coercive violence against their person and property. Lawmakers aren't owed a duty of being nice to them, especially when they're flexing the violent power of their office.

The term was first used to refer to a political official shortly before WWI, but it didn't become popular in the media until FDR was making appointments during WWII. So it depends on your perspective I guess.
The executive branch has a lot more power today than it did in the 40s which I think partly explains why it's become so ubiquitous. Also, Americans don't like UK monarchy terms but it turns out we're pretty ok with authority in general. (If we lost WWII would the US have gone fascist or communist?) What really gets me is that the book would already be in the public domain if it hadn't been for all the extensions to copyrights that were added in the 2nd half of the 20th century. Currently it's something like the life of the author + 70 years, or almost 100 years for a work for hire.
