@mmu_man Now that bitmap support has been added, I'm considering doing some battery-bombed boards that I have.

It seems like it would be fun to sand them down, scan, and trace!

Here are some of the things I noticed in KiCad 7. What are your favorite improvements or new features?

@polpo Yeah it is!

There are a bunch of other good updates as well. But I'm thinking that's the one most people are waiting for.

No KiCad 7 yet, but an important RP2040 SDK Update dropped!

There's a little bit about something relating to Bluetooth support in there.

I was talking to a younger software developer who matter-of-factly asked me: "how does a tablet store stuff if it doesn't have files?"

It took me a long time to come to terms with how we could go from a conversation about Python to ... how files work.

@cinja Good analogy. I get that magnets have poles.

That's about as well as I understand how DeoxIT works: D is spray, L is liquid.

At least, I know which to buy now.

Colors for nets in KiCad 7 makes some of this mess much clearer!

Hey vintage and retro electronics fans, I think I finally understand all of the DexoIT variations!

My book about keyboards, Shift Happens, is now on Kickstarter!

There is all sorts of new information about it, and a video, and what I think are very cool tiers and rewards on top of a very cool book.

Please back and spread the word!

Hopefully I'm going to put the finishing touches on the BBC Master 128 tonite. Got the rotary encoder for the embedded gotek now. Let's get this baby running and watch some demos!

@arturo182 It is like that saying, "nothing is easier than gaining weight."

Regarding tasks/work, if only "finishing stuff were as easy as thinking of it."

Firmware v0.4.0 for #PicoGUS is out: github.com/polpo/picogus/relea

The theme behind this release is moar better DMA – many many games that would fall over on it now run pretty great. And the demo Inside by CNCD *finally* runs with DMA sample upload. That one has been my white whale for months now...
