It took years of playing but I finally beat a New York Times crossword in under five minutes.
When I started Discourse a former boss of mine said “wait, your startup is forums? Like from the 90s?”
Yeah man, I fucking love forums. I read forums every day. I don’t pick projects because I think they’re trendy or cool, I pick them because I’m obsessed with them.
My game is based on crosswords. Are they cool or trendy? No. But they really inspire me creatively, and that’s exactly where I thrive.

@eviltrout Congrats! I’ve done the NYTXW for ages but started doing them every.single.day during the pandemic and my skills have GREATLY improved. I need to check out your game.
@betsyphd I also got really into it during the pandemic! I usually skip Saturdays and Sundays though. Saturdays are too hard and Sundays are too time consuming :)
