That feeling when the chip specifies 6 pairs of 1nF and 100nF decoupling caps, one pair on each of 6 Vcc pins, for a QFN32 part, and the 0402 capacitors are getting in the way of the other signals. Am I really ready to "upgrade" to 0201?! I was planning to hand assemble the first few of these... *ugh*

@wd9gco @smitty I wonder if you can get by with fewer decoupling caps. Sometimes you only need the 1,000pF if they are larger caps, and you can get by with a single 0.1uF 0402.

@wd9gco @bit0fun @cgervasi it has more to do with minimizing trace length (read: stray inductance) between the cap and where that energy is used. I might be able to get away with one large cap to replace all the 100nF caps, and keeping the 1nF caps close to their pins. But I’ll probably just keep it as spec’d. I think I can make it work. I was just marveling at being annoyed that 0402s were in my way.
