Codeberg is looking more and more attractive as a GitHub alternative these days.
The web interface is basically GitHub and they've got a preview going now for Woodpecker CI integration.
Sourcehut is also a great option, but Codeberg feels more familiar to people who have spent a lot of time on GitHub.

I'm more familiar with Gitea, which is pretty similar to Codeberg (I think one may even be a fork of the other?), and I really love it. Plus, it's pretty light in you want to spin your own instance up, and there's work to have have interactivity between instances (similarly to the fediverse actually).
But I gotta give it to SourceHut, being able to make mailing lists is pretty sweet, including for submitting patches.
@phundrak I haven't used Gitea that much but it does seem like a solid option for self-hosting.
The mailing lists are probably my favorite feature of Sourcehut after the flexibility of the CI system!
