Open source software basically can't be good without the political side of society sorted.
It needs to be funded and projects protected from capitalist intervention.
So basically even a bit of mild social democratic intervention into tech world will go a long way.

@kawaiipunk the solution isn't more regulation it's using the correct licenses. so many are either too lazy or peer pressured into using bsd or mit because "m0aR frEedOMz", which is total bullshit of couse. FSF and RMS getting nearly cancelled is an industry attempt to stop the GPL, just like the "permissive licenses are what you should do" meme.
