@SnakeMcDuckets I can't find this comment by Gates anywhere other than this image.

Also, vaccines in general do not work when consumed orally.

Even if they *did* work orally, cooking the food - a thing most people do - is going to change the chemical they put in it, and it'll do so unpredictably. It will not work as intended.

the half dead oral polio vaccine creating polio outbreaks in the 3rd world begs to differ!

@bonifartius @SnakeMcDuckets You are right - we do have oral vaccines for a very small number of diseases which have been incredibly well studied.

This is far from the usual case.

@ceo_of_monoeye_dating @SnakeMcDuckets sure, but i'd venture one could cook up something by now which is heat resistant. maybe some genetically modified bacteria from deep sea black smokers? who knows. nothing is sacred anymore and nobody stops and asks himself if opening another box of pandora is wise.

@bonifartius @SnakeMcDuckets The heats we'd be talking about are really high - cooking food is *meant* to kill off anything that'd make you sick, and we cook food at high enough temperatures that medicine isn't really designed to withstand those temperatures.

Also, there's not really any more "aspirin" which is discovered by looking at naturally occurring stuff. It's all weird and funky lab-cooked stuff nowadays.
