The idea that the global south won't support #Ukraine because of colonialism and hatred of the west is another case of western middle-class guilt producing a patronising stance that removes agency from independent countries.
At the end of the day they are self-interested states who will side with whoever is convenient, and may not pay much attention to issues which they feel don't directly affect them

finally! this is such a repetitive pattern. the same goes for people not voting for the "correct" party. they all just did so out of being talked into by demagogues! clearly not because they don't care for progressive goal xyz but for having a warm home and food on the table.
