This is what I envisioned any military should have. You can setup arbitrary endpoints, the PHY layer can be shortwave, GSM, TETRA, Laser... msg can be encrypted

@bonifartius the other intro I posted explains it all. I dont know any "place" yet to test it. I found more gemini users than nostr yet. In a few days I know if the clients work on this device here...
Mastodon was a natural since there is a public timeline.

Simple core, let devs expand. Could work out. Interim we have ActivityPub which wont go away soon and is already a underground force of distribution.

@CapitalB
i'll take a look at that.

i never cared much for gemini tbh. gopher is fine, http 1 is fine, but gemini fills a very weird niche that almost is nonexistent.

it's either simple core or going full throttle with feature rich reference implementations like matrix did. activity pub is a damn ugly protocol but it does it's job, yeah.

@bonifartius

Gemini is for weirdoes yes :D

A few hours ago I did look up the list about nostr and began reading. I guess it will take off in various decentralized groups and as backends to "normie-blocked" comment sections or podcast discussions and so on. My fear is that protocols become a political statement like I heard a few months ago that Telegram is the place for Querdenker.....

i mean it is, but it's because telegrams UI/UX is pretty good. really the most usable and polished messenger client i used so far.
