@patriotgirl I live in Sweden and it has already started; https://www.riksdagen.se/sv/dokument-lagar/arende/betankande/vapenfragor_H801JuU30
This is a committee recommendation for the parliament and it has been approved byt the previous leftist/red/green parliament, and new majority are not showing any interest in changing it back.
In this, says a new "EU weapon license"...And since many states in EU has "no guns for citizens at all", guess what the common denominator will be.
@niclas german red/greens also try more gun regulation currently. no semi autos anymore, likely only single shot without magazines allowed. the liberals have prevented the worst so far, but they aren't very trustworthy either.
@patriotgirl
Right. But how hard is it in Germany to get a license in the first place?
In Sweden it used to be; Member of a hunting team and proof of a simple course (safety, loading, rules,...). But those days are probably gone (I have been away for a long time and not kept up with rules since I despise them)
@niclas
it's semi hard i guess? shooting club member with either training every month or 18 times in a year and a gun course much like you described or a hunting license (which includes the course and stuff).
@patriotgirl
@niclas there are some additional rules concerning the type of guns.
theres a permit for sporting guns which is everything that is a discipline of the major gun clubs.
other things are goin onto another permit where you have to proove training for a year with the respective type of weapon to get a permit for owning this single gun.
funnily enough old military rifles are a sporting discipline, while big calibre revolvers aren't.
so for some guns it's relatively easy, for some harder. hunters have their own set of rules, which are a bit more easy in general, the hunting permit is more expensive and time intensive though.
it's not really _hard_ but annoying and very complicated. that's why jörg can find loopholes all the time :)
@niclas @patriotgirl dont get me wrong though, it should be much more easy ;)
