how should I get into actually programming as a hobby I don't really have much experience at all and have no starting point to rely on :/

@meeper just don't fall for the python is easy meme. it's not easy nor very good - it's a wild hodgepodge of ideas.
maybe niklaus wirth has some good introductory book on programming, i can take a look.
@bonifartius I was a C99 radicalized suckless user for a while so I'm definitely not falling there

maybe https://people.inf.ethz.ch/wirth/AD.pdf but it's the oberon version. i think there is a pascal version out there. i haven't read it, but his introductionary book on compilers is very good.
