I've been experimenting with styling them with css.
Here's a cute animation for the RSS icon.
@gabriel nice!
i think a great property is that if one doesn't go totally crazy, these things are downward-compatible. e.g. a basic renderer might only render a symbol instead of the animated one.
animation-delay is a fun attribute.
All the css required for the animation:
@keyframes blink{
from{opacity:1}
to{opacity:0}
}
#rss path{
animation:blink 1s linear alternate infinite;
}
#rss path:nth-of-type(1){
animation:none;
}
#rss path:nth-of-type(2){
animation-delay: 0.25s;
}
#rss path:nth-of-type(3){
animation-delay: 0.5s;
}
@gabriel also something rendering the basic primitives is built rather easily if you have access to a library to render lines, polygons and ellipses. then you have a human readable graphic format you can render.
