I am thankful I do not have to deal with young kids & access to technology. Also, when a news organization reaches out to a company such as, Meta, Snap, or [insert giant corp or politician's name here] and they, "declined a request for an interview," the news organization should just assume they are guilty of whatever issue the article is investigating & say so. I'm sick of these giants in our society thinking they don't have to be transparent about what they do & why. https://www.npr.org/sections/health-shots/2023/07/12/1187130983/smartphone-tween-safe-alternatives

pretty easy, either offline with known good contents or supervised only. both time limited.
@bonifartius @elaterite I do not understand this attitude. I would not be in Tech today, or the person I am if I did not enjoy the rather unfiltered access to internet we kids enjoyed in the late 2000s. Parents are so afraid of online creeps that they cut their kids of from all the chances to learn to be responsible individuals on their own, and completely dismiss offline creeps as the much greater danger.
@Alexmitter @elaterite this is not the 2000s net anymore, these aren't the 2000s devices anymore.
@Alexmitter @elaterite it's devices with cameras, gps and all kinds of sensors in the size of a booklet.
@bonifartius @elaterite And? My PDA back then had all of that too.
