@shebang oh it was the know-it-all-hybris some physicists have paired with being an asshole and making fun of people for being a bit clumsy nd naive.. i was on the verge of throwing them out.
@shebang i'm sure there are nice physicists though.. i probably don't know about them because they don't jabber about the supremacy of their science all day long 
@bonifartius It's not really whether they are nice sorts or not, its that they think whatever their field is, is the point of the universe. Mathematicians think the universe is numbers. Physicists think its about the number of black holes or complexity or whatever. Computer Scientists think everything is a simulation -- a program.
It's all so juvenile. It's like saying I drive a truck so I guess the universe is actually about shipping goods, and its at least as valid as anything they've come up with.
