@McMongoose yeah the setting is a bit weird. the countries at conflict in a 80s technology setting is reminding me a bit of papers please.

@bonifartius well it's supposed to be germany, but I can't tell if it's supposed to be two different countries or not, plus the west/east mentality gets mixed up, but again, it's not like it matters

@McMongoose @bonifartius It's supposed to be East and West Germany during the cold war, with it taking place in the East Germany equivalent, the uniforms of the secret police and its Stasi parallels are obvious.

@wgiwf @bonifartius
The show never confirms that tho. Plus there's confusing lines like the last episode, where an assassin tells Yor's boss to "think more like the west" but they are supposed to be on the west already??? Plus the boss behaves like they have their national agenda and not like a foreign puppet. Imo it confuses me

@McMongoose @wgiwf it's too prosperous for being east germany :P

i guess i'll just continue to enjoy the show :)

@bonifartius @wgiwf the political subtext is definitely not the point of the show, though I do enjoy the aesthetic tho
