@Hyolobrika @hrast @p @MK2boogaloo @GAGOOT @istvan Can't read it, it's been destroyed by the node server.

@MK2boogaloo @GAGOOT @Zerglingman @istvan No, no. JS programmers have a habit of saying that kind of retarded shit all the time. Ignore them. The canonical example is this idiot: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=3560913

@moth @GAGOOT @MK2boogaloo @Zerglingman @istvan I think it needs to be at least three different specs, it's got more inappropriate coupling than Epstein Island at present. One protocol spec, one document format spec, one set of design guidelines for the browser, all of those independent, and leave off the transport layer stuff. I don't think it's a good spec but that's the main fundamental flaw.

The web took off because it was more flexible (legally and technologically) and it was easier to implement. Gopher was encumbered by licensing and some pretty rigid guidelines. I think anything that wants to displace the web will need to adopt that kind of thing. I think Sir Tim's initial notes are a better starting point than Gemini if it's done from scratch, but if it were my project, I'd leverage existing infrastructure by just doing a subset of HTTP/1.1.

@istvan @Zerglingman @GAGOOT @MK2boogaloo The sooner you figure out that nothing you want is on that side of the internet, the better your life will be.

Hello World!

GIMP project now gets a new official Mastodon account! 🥳

We can see the info leaked somehow (we had not announced it and already got 150+ followers in 2 days) 😂.

GIMP news will be coming here too, from now on!

The actor of Hagrid in the Harry Potter movies, Anthony Robert McMillan OBE (commonly known as Robbie Coltrane) has passed away.

He had expressed support for J.K. Rowling after trans activists started their harassment campaign against her.

So of course, trans activists are reacting in a totally normal way you would expect of kind and loving human rights activists.

Err…what?
