@peterdrake @freemo no i have not. i found that videos aren't a good way for me to learn about things like programming, compared to things like woodworking, so i never looked for videos :) for computer science books are the best way for me to learn.
i still appreciate the link and may watch some select videos :)

@selea, it seemed so, but Freenode was benefiting the community until then, unlike Twitter has been (and still is) working for surveillance capitalism. Although I am glad that the acquisition made many people finally leave bird site, I don’t feel it is worth any mourning at all.

@selea, except that Freenode used to be run by volunteers while bird site has been a tool of mass surveillance for years? The acquisition can make it worse, but I’m baffled how people are acting as if Elon is ruining something pure and precious.

@freemo i can do a bit ocaml, but somehow haskell always eluded me. are there any good resources on it except the learn you a haskell book? that one didn't work for me.

there are two people, those who can deal with freedom and those who can't. everything else is a secondary issue, especially on the net.
if they weren't so dangerous, i'd have pity with those who can't. they are too much of a threat though. they willingly give away their agency for the illusion of safety, online and in real life. what they really are doing is forcing everyone around them into the same chains they have around the ankles of their mind.
