@McMongoose i'm looking for a place for a relative. i guess it should have _some_ moderation, i just don't want them to open twkn and be greeted by degenerate pr0n, MAP and other shit. totally unfiltered just isn't the right thing for everyone.
the closest to what i look for them are the "boomer instances", no agenda, freeatlantis, etc.. not totally unfiltered firehose of madness, not woke capital. just mostly sane free conversation and some shitposting.

I watched sunbeam.city drag my good friend through the mud: they decided that he must be some kind of fascist, because he is my friend and colleague going back maybe 15 years, because they decided that I am a fascist, because I do not ban people for their opinions. I objected in the thread, pointed out that the inquisition was stupid and that he was a committed lefty, and when the sunbeam.city fallout happened, they claimed that I'd threatened murder. I'm on the list, so I'm fair game, no one will ever try to verify it, they can lie as much as they want. If you question any of the lies, you're "literally defending a fascist"; even pointing out that I'm not a fascist is "literally defending a fascist". Fascists hate me, but it's not like that matters to these people. If there is a way to opt out of this, no one presented me with the option.
So thatfightnerd is now on some list, all the evil people that they managed to dox. People looking at that list will take it as read that he's a fascist, same way they did with me, same way they did with my friend. Who's got the moral high ground? Is it just based on the choice of $ingroup/$outgroup?

People didn't tend to get swatted ten years ago, people's employers didn't tend to get harassed ten years ago. (What else would be the point of including his LinkedIn profile?)

@DCR ich sammel einfach immer alles was mir leute geben, was auf der straße steht oder im abverkauf ist und sonst im müll landen würde. so bin ich für 50 cent an eine gasterie gekommen der es prächtig geht :)
@DCR genau, die mit den runden blättern. kommen eigentlich irgendwo aus china und sind dort inzwischen natürlich selten wegen habitatverlust (ich sollte wikipedia zu lassen..)
i went through some "choose your fedi instance" lists and none of them lists qoto anymore. pretty good litmus test for insanity tbh.
are there any sane lists left, aside from crawlers? there are people i know who like to join fedi while also like to think for themselves..
@DCR hier stehen inzwischen drei oder vier varianten von grünlilien :) einen haufen pilea peperomioides gibt es auch inzwischen, die sind auch ziemlich dankbar. und noch anderes zeugs, das meiste gerettet von irgendwo :)

@DCR besonders meine grünlilien: kann ich zwei monate vergessen zu gießen, sehen mehr grau als grün aus, ein bisschen wasser und am nächsten tag knallig grün! haben aber auch speicherwurzeln :D
